Zemanted lately?

I don't often browse Techmeme - but it was a slow day on my other favourite URL haunts. Spotted Zemanta - it's an interesting browser plugin or a Microsoft Livewriter plugin for blogging. You can be blogging away and Zemanta will display relevant photos from the web as well as other website urls that are similar in subject to the content you are writing You can click on a photo and Zemanta will generate HTML to embed the photo

Seems to work differently for different publishing platforms - for example, I'm getting more features in the Blogger editing screen than the Movable type editing screen. My Live Writer Build 12 does not appear to load the plugin.

Which of the Zemanta features are you missing in your Movable Type?

For WLW, which Windows do you use? Any special things you notice so we can fix this?

thanks,

Hi Jure,
I blog through Blogger web interface as well and I get tags below the textarea, photos on the right and matching urls on the right. In Movable Type. I don't get tags and the photos don't turn up even though the HTML embed code is generated. In WLW, the video shows a right hand pane where Zemanta is supposed to display but I don't get that. Version 12.0.1370.325

Thanks for your quick response.

Ananda,

I am using build v12.0.1367.1128 of WLW which maybe a beta or interim build and Zemanta 'appears' to function OK here with MT correctly (I did a quick test post but didn't publish it.)

- v12.0.1471.1025 is available here.

- The WLW Team have a 'Tech Preview' build v12.0.3913.522

I would try the first link as the 'Tech Preview' has a few bugs that are shown on the WLW Forums.

Jure,

Is there any requirements for the Zemanta CSS Classes that the plug-in is referencing that the site should need?

There are no CSS requirements. But you can use these classes to style Zemanta recommendations into something that you like.
