Whirlpool 2007 Survey Now Online
Whirlpool's annual 'Australian Broadband Survey' results have now been published online here.
- 51.9% think that the government should be responsible for the next generation internet in Australia and not Telstra or the G9.
- ~75% disagree with the government policy being proposed for mandatory filtering at the ISP-Level (Opt-Out) scheme.
Something of interest in the demographic breakdown of the 17,881 survey respondents is that 12.3% were students and then the next four are from people who work in IT totaling 32.8%.
So out to the wider demographic of the Bleeding Edge audience, how did your ISP compare from your own experiences compared to that of the results shown in the survey?

I was previously satisfied with Westnet's service until my contact finished. Since then I have not been able to access the internet during peak times, ie before 8.00 pm, EVERY day.
This smacks of choking!
Satelite broaband should be available at all times!
Westnet refuses to acknowledge any problem and wants to charge me $200+ for a service call as the ipstar modem is now 'out of warranty'.
I have tested it and my computer on another neighbour's satelite connection and it works perfectly, as it does at night at my place.
I am VERY UNHAPPY!
This fault should be brought to the attention of anyone who is contemplating getting satelite broadband connected.
I have spent hours on the phone to W.A. trying to get the matter resolved.
Is there anyone who can help to get me a full-time connection?
Thanking you,
warwicklaw@westnet.com.au
