Microsoft Live Writer

It's Jeremy Howard here again - I haven't been posting as much as I'd like to, and I think a big part of the reason is because writing posts using the built-in Movable Type editor is such a pain. I hope I've found the solution to this, in the form of Microsoft Live Writer. This is a nice little program that provides a GUI editor for blog posts. It works with the most of the major blog systems (a nice change from the MS of old, who would have made it work only with their own tools).

As you might have guessed, this is my first post using Live Writer. Oh, and that picture on the right? Well, it has nothing to do with this post - I just wanted to test the image uploading facilities of the software. For those who are curious, it's a picture of me on my CBR600 at the Phillip Island race track.

Nice technique, Jeremy, and a lovely bike. But isn't it a touch ominous that the CBR link seems to have stopped updating in 2003? :-)

The CBR600F4 (which I have, and is the topic of that site) is an old bike, from 2000. The current version is the CBR600RR, which is less ergonomic (not so good for touring) but more sporty.

There are also a great list of plug-ins for WLW available at the Windows Live Writer Gallery. Flickr4Writer is my favorite at the moment giving quick and easy links to Flickr images.

Thanks Stephen. http://wlwplugins.com/ is perhaps even better.

no-one has taken a pic of me on my ZX12r at PI...like that :(
but I don't care!
I can do 290 down the chute..and not get busted!

290 eh? Well that's better than my 600 can do - but you *do* have an engine twice as big! I think 260 is the best I've got. There's a photographer at the PI ride days - you should find that there are photos to pick from after your ride.

For those riders who haven't done ride days - I highly recommend it; as Smitty said, you're completely legal, and it's great fun! And most importantly, there's no buildings or oncoming traffic to crash in to...

290 pah! No way you can afford to look at the dials with turn one approaching at anything resembling speed.

cheers, Paul

Umm. I've done just over 100 on my Scarabeo 250 and that felt pretty fast, what with the wind trying to blow me off the freeway, and several drivers trying to cut me off.

Most if not all of the plug-ins at http://wlwplugins.com/ are now in the Windows Live Gallery and the majority of all new plugins will be listed there.

http://wlwplugins.com/ was originally setup as WLW was not a full part of the Windows Live Suite of programs which that transition is now nearly complete.
