How will Andrew Bolt save face?

You may recall that we predicted a huge about face by the Murdoch media on global warming, after the boss's son revealed that he's anything but your average eco-dummy. Now, according to today's Crikey - which took a few weeks to catch up with us - Rupert's London Sun has officially admitted that it was in denial when it poked fun at scientists who warned that we were killing the planet. Well, it didn't actually go quite that far. What it admitted though, was that

Too many of us have spent too long in denial over the threat from global warming. The evidence is now irresistible: Searing summers and dry winters in the UK; increasingly frequent tornados and hurricanes worldwide; the shrinking Arctic ice cap.
But, as Crikey reports, the local Murdoch fanatics on The Australian and the Hun are still banging the same old drum.

We're prepared to bet, however, that James will prevail, and that eventually Herr Professor Doktor Bolt and all those brave so-called journalists who parrot whatever the boss believes, are going to have to change tack. If Andrew Bolt had even a molecule of spunk, he'd either (a) attack James Murdoch in one of his columns for being an environmental panic merchant, in the same way he's been dishing it out to scientists who've taken a public stand on the issue, or (b) make a public apology right now for his dangerous irresponsibility on the environment.

So what will it be, Bolt? More piss and wind? More pseudo-scientific crap?A brave declaration? Or a slow, wimpish retreat?

Well, I think we can rule out both. Certainly an apology is out of the question because obsessive compulsives find it almost impossible to do that. And biting the hand that feeds you takes intestinal fortitude.

No, the Dolt will either continue to prosecute his discredited position by following his well crafted approach of selective use of material. Or, more likely, you will see the subject fade from his rant list.

Nice one Charles.

Yes, you're making the mistake of imagining that Bolt is involved in dialogue with his opponents. With him, it's only ever monologue -- no amount of evidence proving him wrong will ever merit anything but a sneer. He's not paid to be reasonable, he's paid to rant and keep ranting long after the last shred of his credibility has disappeared. My guess is that he'll keep ranting about it at least until such time as other right wing columnists take him to task, which may well be never.

Poor Andrew.
Never paid much attention in science classes it seems. With "Still Not Sorry" as his ...er..."book" title, we'll just cop Boltspeak along the lines of "You fools! I was talking S H ONE T, the fault lies with you.... of course, you've misinterpreted me... again".
The Pulp and Print Court in Melbourne take their role of misinformation quite seriously.
There's a buck to be made ya see.
BTW - has he found his tie yet?

I can't wait to see his recovery article...will be an interesting mix of delusionary, self indulgent, arrogant, ignorant and pious rhetoric for which he is well known to those with some intelligence.
