Home sweet home
Thanks to a great job by Matthew, we seem to have made the shift to Site5 without too many hassles - (you might have to reload the page) - although we've probably missed some comments and forum posts. And [whoops] just noticed we don't seem to have the links to current forum posts on the front page.
CW has been re-entering some of the comments, but If you've posted since Friday night, you might like to check to see if your words have made the transition to the new site.
Inevitably there will be some things we've missed in the move. For instance we just noticed that we had to re-enter our TypeKey token to allow automatic posts by trusted users. Let us know if you spot something. We must say that we feel a lot more comfortable now that we're immune from anything SmartyHost does. And we've got a lot more space, for less than SmartyHost charges.

On the front page there is the text "Web hosting provided by [blank]"
Web hosting still links to Smarty Host, bless their cotton little socks. From the look of things, their socks are all they’ve got going for them at the moment.

I was using Smartyhost but pulled most stuff from them after two incidents.
1 - my site was defaced. I know pretty much the exct time this happended as I went to me site and it disappeared between two visits, about an hour apart. I contacted Smartyhost almost immediately. They responded the next morning (to a call made in the afternoon well within business hours that was tagged as urgent both on the phone and in the online call logging. The were unable to restore my site from backup as, at that time, they overwrote their backup tape everynight. Their delay in responding meant that they couldn't do the backup.
2 - I paid for some extra space. When the service the space was linked to lapsed I didn't renew it. Until i argued for a bit, I was going to have to forfeit the extra space I purchased. They "traded" the space for another hosting arrangement that I'm using at the moment.
To be fair, Smartyhost, I think, has grown quickly and has suffered some growing pains. Hopefully, they'll sort them out.

Great to see everything is working on the new host. I first thought it strange that you went for a US-based host (I imagine most of your traffic is from Oz), but it looks like everything runs pretty fast.
Growing pains like smartyhost's have caused this kind of grief all over the place. I had one Melbourne based host that was basically a one man show. I soon realised that if something went down over the weekend I wouldn't get an answer to my support ticket until the following Monday!
