Allofmp3 lives again ... sort of
We're delighted to report that despite all the stories about its sad demise, Allofmp3.com is up again. Possibly they were just adding server space to cater for increased demand, but Web page ordering is "temporarily unavailable". As a service to our loyal readers we took the opportunity to try out their SMS ordering. That makes the album we were interested in more expensive [$5 as opposed to around $2.13], but it may be the only way we can get some tracks at the moment.
The idea is they SMS a code back to you, and you enter it and start downloading. We've got part way through the process, but we're not sure it's going to complete. Again, possibly because that sort of ordering too, is temporarily unavailable.
Anyone else tried this?

Is the personalised suggestion system new? We don't use the web site for purchasea as we prefer alltunes (although that still won't connect) and prior to this we used their allofmp3 explorer.

I feel an urge to cough.

I heard Stephen's cough and went cold. According to the Urge site they use windows digital rights management and are only available to United States users. They tell you nothing about how the digital rights actually restrict use nor do they give any indication of what level of encoding one is getting.
I'm sticking with the Russians.

I never tried allofmp3.com until it was mentioned in this post, and initially I could not put money on my account. Recently however, it seems they have shifted their payment facilities to a company based in the Netherlands (chronopay). The site is working fine for me now, and I am very happy for the suggestion!
