Marc Ecko on delusional fantasies
We missed this until now, but Stephen Hutcheon's interview with Marc Ecko, whose computer game on graffiti was banned by the boobies on Australia's Classification Review Board, is worth listening to.
It's pretty clear that in banning a work that took seven years to create, on the grounds that it might encourage people to paint graffiti, when they totally ignore the so-called glorification of anti-social behaviour in films, novels, and for that matter other computer games, the board has demonstrated that if anyone is likely to suffer from delusional fantasies, it's them.

It's sad that you can steal cars and drive into pedestrians, but you can't tag a few walls. Just as well those shoot-em-up games are banned too (what, they're not?!?).
cheers, Paul
