A sickie
I've got a sore throat. I'm slightly feverish, and I didn't sleep well last night. Can I please spend the afternoon in bed?

Charles if you really feel you need to spend a day in bed then by all means do so.
My advice is to load up on the echinacea, zinc and vitamin c...take a hot lemon and honey drink with a largish dash of overproof spirit of your choice and in the morning you will either be full of vim and vigour with healthy tonsils or damned hung over ;-)
